Travel
To get overseas and back we will obviously be flying but once we leave North America we will be utilizing a multiple modes of transportation.
- Flying - Anywhere that isn't driving distance(America to Europe, Europe to South Africa, some travel within South Africa) we will have to fly, but anytime we can get away with taking a bus, train or driving we will most likely choose other options.
- Train - Travel within South Africa (to most locations centered around Johannesburg) and perhaps some of our European movements will have a choo-choo soundtrack.
- Car - Once we return to Europe after the World Cup, we plan to rent, or perhaps lease, a car for the duration of our trip. Having a car will provide much more flexibility for our travel and allow us easier access to locations "off the beaten tourist path." We understand we will require International Driving Permit's (IDP) in order to legally travel throughout Europe so we will obtain these from AAA before leaving. If diesel prices spike in Europe or other forms of European travel drop significantly in price then we will reevaluate our plan to obtain a car.
- Cabs - Essential part of any travel whether domestic or abroad.
- Our Feet! - What better way to see the world?

Lodging
This is perhaps the most fluid aspect of our trip. We have a variety of options we plan to explore for how to stay throughout the world and likey won't have our lodging completely solidified even as we leave the USA.
- Hostels - Our main source of shelter. They offer economically friendly rates and allow us to meet numerous new people
- CouchSurfing - A relatively new phenomenon but something we plan to utilize fully as it will offer us free accommodation and a great way to truly experience local cultures. See Host Us! page for more details.
- Camping - Although we did not originally think this would be a viable option, we have located intriguing campsites all around Europe and South Africa that we plan to take full advantage of, with the help of tents and sleeping bags, to increase our connection with the natural beauty and splendor that we encounter.
- Connections - Each of us knows one or more people who lives in Europe who will be putting us for a night or two.
- Hotels - As this is the most expensive option and offers the little to no easy opportunity to meet and interact with others, they will be used infrequently and as a last resort only.

World Citizens
Becoming a true citizen of the world is a key component of our mission as referenced on our home page.
In pursuit of this goal, we will:
- Use our passion for life, football and travel to establish comon ground between ourselves and those around us.
- Bask in, absorb and explore foreign cultures and customs
- Meet as many people as possible and connect with those of all races,
ethnicities, backgrounds etc. in order to gain a better understanding
of how the world works and how it's citizens interact with each other
- Attempt to increase our international sensitivity
and knowledge base as these traits are becoming increasingly important
in this day and age where technology is continually breaking down
international borders and creating a globalized, one world community
